Northwest Missouri State University Career Services will host its annual spring Career Day Wednesday, March 6, providing students and alumni an opportunity to network with potential employers and graduate schools.

Career Day, which also includes the event formerly referred to as Education Expo, will be 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Carl and Cheryl Hughes Fieldhouse. The event is free and allows Northwest students and alumni to connect with employers regarding full-time, summer and internship positions.

Graduate schools will be attendance to share information about degree programs and graduate school opportunities.

“Career Day is the perfect opportunity to explore a wide variety of internship and full-time employment openings,” Jill Brown, director of partnerships and placement at Northwest, said. “All students, regardless of major or year in school, will benefit by attending and visiting with the employers and graduate schools in attendance.”

More details and a listing of employers and schools attending Career Day are available by clicking here www.nwmissouri.edu/career/events/career-day.htm.

Career Services will also host its annual Mock Interview Day from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, on the third floor of the J.W. Jones Student Union. The event helps students gain interviewing experience by meeting face-to-face with employers who provide students with direct feedback on their resume, interview responses and overall impression. Sign up for Mock Interview day begins Monday, March 4, and students may register by visiting the Career Services office in Room 130 of the Administration Building.

Northwest is a leader in profession-based learning by providing experiences developed through industry and community collaborations and partnerships. As a result, 97 percent of Northwest bachelor’s degree earners and 99 percent of master’s degree earners secure employment or continue their education within six months of graduation, according to the most recent data. Zippia, a career website, has named Northwest the best college in Missouri for getting a job.
