Northwest community mourning student’s passing

Northwest Missouri State University is mourning after learning of the passing of one of its students.

Lonnae Young, a junior psychology major from Lee’s Summit, Missouri, died unexpectedly during the morning of Feb. 16 at SSM Health St. Francis Hospital in Maryville. An autopsy is planned.

A viewing is scheduled from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 23, at Charity Church, 9505 E. 47th St., in Kansas City, Missouri. The funeral will begin at 11 a.m. at the church.

Young was a resident assistant on the second floor of Dieterich Hall. She was involved with Sigma Society and TRIO.
