Burgers for Bearcats: Mooyah to open in January

Mooyah Burgers, Fries and Shakes, a fast casual, “better burger” chain, is ready to satisfy the taste buds of burger enthusiasts in Maryville with the opening of a new location on the Northwest Missouri State University campus.

The new restaurant will be inside The Station, located on the west side of the campus, and is scheduled to open Monday, Jan. 14, 2019, as students return for the spring semester. The Northwest location will be open from 10:30 a.m. to midnight on weekdays and from 4 p.m. to midnight on Saturdays and Sundays. Ahead of the opening, employment opportunities are available, and interested individuals are encouraged to visit https://careers.aramark.com/ to learn more and apply.

“Mooyah provides the type of elevated service and quality product that our students, faculty and staff members are looking for in a new brand at Northwest Missouri State University,” Aramark Senior Food Service Director Spencer Martin said. “Whether it’s a burger break between study sessions or grabbing some fries on the way to cheer on the Bearcats, we are excited to welcome Mooyah as part of our rich campus culture.”

The opening marks Mooyah’s first restaurant in Missouri, where the company sees opportunity for growth with qualified franchisees in and around major markets such as Kansas City, St. Louis, Springfield, Columbia and Independence.

“We have found success on a variety of college campuses and can’t wait to bring our burgers to the Bearcats at Northwest and the entire Maryville community,” Michael Mabry, Mooyah Burgers, Fries and Shakes’ chief operating officer and president, said. “We also feel like Missouri is a great state to continue our mission of providing the very best burger experience and see the Northwest location as a first step in our expansion to other areas of the state.”

Mooyah was ranked this year among Entrepreneur Magazine’s Top 200 Food and Restaurant Franchises of 2018 and landed at No. 7 in the Top 10 Fast Casual Restaurant Franchises by FranchiseRankings.com. In 2017, the brand was named to Entrepreneur’s Franchise 500 list, Franchise Times’ Fast and Serious list of the smartest growing franchise brands, and it was ranked No. 11 on Fast Casual Magazine’s annual Top 100 Movers and Shakers, a list the brand has been included on every year in the last 10 years of rankings.

At Mooyah, guests have the advantage of choosing from a variety of bun options, such as baked-in-house artisan potato or multigrain wheat non-GMO buns and hand-crafted lettuce buns, called Iceburgers, to accompany the never-frozen, 100 percent Certified Angus Beef brand burgers, all natural Jennie-O turkey and MorningStar Farms black bean veggie burgers. Each gourmet burger can be customized with five cheeses, Applewood smoked bacon and sliced avocado, along with nine free veggie toppings and 11 free sauces.

Mooyah’s hand-cut fries come together in a six-step process that takes 24 hours to completely prepare. A delightful combination of constant attention and a little magic help transform Idaho potatoes into perfect, crisp-on-the-outside and fluffy-on-the-inside fries. Guests also have the choice of savory sweet potato fries.

Mooyah also offers 100 percent real ice cream shakes, allowing guests to choose from seven flavors, ranging from vanilla and Hershey’s chocolate to Reese’s, Oreo and more.
