Northwest Missouri State University is inviting the community for a family-friendly kickball tournament on Sunday, Dec. 9, at the Carl and Cheryl Hughes Fieldhouse.
The non-competitive kickball tournament is open to teams comprised of all individuals in fifth grade and older. Games will be played between 2 and 7 p.m., with each lasting 20 to 30 minutes. Each team that enters will be guaranteed two games.
Rules will be presented on the day of the tournament.
Entries are due at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 5. Space is limited so teams are encouraged to sign up early. For more information about the tournament or to register a team, contact 660.562.1725 or bbyland@nwmissouri.edu.
The Hughes Fieldhouse, which opened to the public on Oct. 12, was completed this fall on the Northwest campus and represents the single largest public-private partnership in the University’s history as well as one of the largest such projects in the region ever. The $21 million, 137,250 square-foot facility is designed to serve a multitude of social, recreational and economic needs for the University and the region.
The facility is open to the public from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Visitors should park in Lot 60 east of the Hughes Fieldhouse and enter through the east entrance.
