Northwest Missouri State University’s Madraliers will present their fall concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, in the Charles Johnson Theater at the Olive DeLuce Fine Arts building.
The concert, which is free and open to the public, will feature compositions from the 17th to 21st centuries by Baldassare Donato, Peter Wilhousky, Susan LaBarr, Wei-Pin Chen, Stacey Gibbs, Lee Dengler and P.D.Q. Bach.
The concert also will feature Franz Schubert’s “Mass No. 2 in G Major” with an accompaniment of orchestral strings and a showcase of vocal soloists within the choir.
The Madraliers choral ensemble is a select group, consisting of 35 undergraduate and graduate students representing a variety of disciplines and majors at Northwest. The choir’s repertoire ranges from the Renaissance to contemporary composers.
In the spring, the same students become Celebration, the show choir for the University. Professor of Music Dr. Brian Lanier conducts the choirs.
The ensemble also will present its 45th Annual Yuletide Feaste Dec. 7-8 in the J.W. Jones Student Union on the Northwest campus.
