Comedy series continues Oct. 10 with Jessi Campbell

By Grace Niemeyer, communication assistant

The Student Activities Council (SAC) at Northwest Missouri State University is continuing its comedy series for the 2018-19 academic year, which features up-and-coming comedians performing on the Northwest stage.

The series continues with actress and comedian Jessi Campbell at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 10, at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts as part of Homecoming week activities. The first 500 attendees receive a Northwest T-shirt.

Emmy award winner Sara Schafer kicked off the series on Sept. 7.

“Students and community members should come to the comedy series to share a laugh with one another,” Erin Fleharty, SAC special events coordinator, said. “These events are brought to campus to allow students and community members an hour or two to have a good time in a fun and interactive way. They also allow students and community members to meet one another and become more connected to Maryville and to Northwest.”

The comedy series provides an informal, entertaining atmosphere. All shows are free and open to the public. Seats are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

SAC plans and administers activities for Northwest students to contribute to a more well-rounded social, recreational and cultural life for the campus and community. SAC provides entertaining alternatives to students with late night activities and events throughout the year including concerts, lectures, movies and comedians.

Details about each comedian are provided below. For more information, contact SAC at 660.562.1226 or sacspec@nwmissouri.edu.
