Alumnus Burton Taylor featured among Ingram’s ’40 Under 40’

Burton Taylor, a 2000 alumnus of Northwest Missouri State University, recently was featured by Ingram’s, a Kansas City business magazine, in its annual “40 Under 40” edition.

Taylor, who earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwest in journalism in 2000, is the founder of Proventus Consulting LLC, a Kansas City-based marketing, public relations and business development agency serving a variety of clients that include law firms and professional service companies as well as real estate and political advocacy organizations. Taylor partners with clients to develop and execute marketing strategies designed to grow visibility and advance strategic communication objectives.

Taylor founded the agency in 2012. Previously he worked as a public/media relations manager at Shook, Hardy & Bacon; as director of government relations for the University of Missouri System and as a public affairs specialist for the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Western District of Missouri. He began his professional career as business reporter at the St. Joseph News-Press.

He is past president and a board member for Impact KC and a commissioner for the city of Mission, Kansas. He previously served as a board member for Camps For Kids, a Kansas City-based non-profit organization dedicated to helping disabled and disadvantaged youth participate in summer camp.
