Northwest Missouri State University alumni and friends are invited to enjoy a fun-filled evening at the ballpark during the eighth annual Northwest Night at the St. Joseph Mustangs, Saturday, June 9.

The baseball game featuring the St. Joseph Mustangs and the Jefferson City Renegades begins at 7 p.m. at Phil Welch Stadium, 2600 SW Parkway in St. Joseph, Missouri. Alumni and friends also are invited to a tailgate party from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at the Northwest Alumni Association tent outside the stadium.

“The Northwest Night at the St. Joe Mustangs is an annual tradition for Bearcat country,” Bob Machovsky, director of alumni relations and annual giving at the University, said. “This is one of largest events of the year and it’s a great night for promoting the University and enjoying America’s favorite pastime.”

The event is sponsored by Northwest Missouri State University and the Northwest Alumni Association. Additional details are provided below.

Tickets

The Northwest Alumni Association has 300 free tickets available for reservation to Northwest fans.

Additional game tickets will be available to purchase through the Northwest Alumni Association for a discounted price after all free tickets are redeemed.

Fans may reserve tickets by contacting the Office of Alumni Relations at 660.562.1248 or brenda@nwmissouri.edu.

Tickets must be picked up by 6:30 p.m. on the night of the game at the green Northwest Alumni Association tent at the tailgate party.

Pregame tailgate

The tailgate party will feature a meal catered by Hy-Vee, which will include the choice of a hot dog for $5 or hamburger for $6; both meal options include chips, cookie and a drink.

Fans are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and may organize their own traditional tailgating prior to the game.

Refer a Bearcat

The Northwest Office of Admissions will be at the tailgate to connect with high school students interested in Northwest. The office will answer questions and provide more information about Northwest and all it has to offer. Students and their families can request free tickets by emailing rmachov@nwmissouri.edu or calling 660.562.1112.

Plenty to cheer about
