Facility services announces realignment, new work zones

Northwest Missouri State University Facility Services is in the process of realigning a portion of its resources to better serve students and employees.

Facility Services staff are transitioning to a two-zone coverage program and a central plant zone to provide its services. Below is an outline of new supervisor assignments and their areas of responsibility.

Rick Allen will supervise the Academic/Support Zone. This zone includes the Administration Building, Ag Greenhouse, Bearcat Stadium, Botany Lab, Everett W. Brown Hall, the Dean L. Hubbard Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Colden Hall, Facility Services buildings, R.T. Wright Farm, Olive Deluce Fine Arts Building, Fire Arts Building, Robert and Virginia Foster Fitness Center, Garrett-Strong Science Building, Lamkin Activity Center, Martindale Hall, Materials Distribution Center, McKemy Center for Lifelong Learning, Mozingo Outdoor Education Recreation Area, Jon T. Rickman Electronic Campus Support Center, B.D. Owens Library, Raymond J. Courter College Park Pavilion, Pellet Plant, Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts, Rodeo Arena, Support Services Building, Thompson-Ringgold Building, Valk Center, Wellness Center and Wells Hall.

Justin Meneely will supervise the Residential/Auxiliary Zone. This zone includes the Alumni House, Community Center, Dieterich Hall, Forest Village Apartments, Franken Hall, Thomas Gaunt House, Hudson Hall, Mabel Cook Recruitment and Visitors Center, Millikan Hall, North Complex, Perrin Hall, Phillips Hall, Roberta Hall, South Complex, The Station, J.W. Jones Student Union and Tower Suites.

Robert Redig will supervise the Central Plant Zone. This zone includes the centralized HVAC systems, Chiller Plant, Power Plant and tunnel distribution

Director of Facility Services Allen Mays, Jr. said University students and employees may submit work requests as normal, and Facility Services will assign the request to the appropriate zone.

For emergency work orders during normal business hours, contact Facility Services’ Service Response Center at 660.562.1183. For emergency work orders after hours or on weekends, contact the Power Plant at 660.562.1186. All non-emergency work orders may be created through the web work request system on MyNorthwest, using the Facility Services tab.
