The Student Senate and Student Activities Council at Northwest Missouri State University will host their first Technicolor Run for Cancer Saturday, April 4, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the University campus’ College Park.
The event is open to the public and all proceeds will go to the American Cancer Society.
Participants may choose to participate in any number of events, including the 2.2-mile color run, a 5k or 10k, a bike race for kids, a balloon release and an Easter egg hunt. The day also will feature Bobby's Big Blowout Carnival, music and food.
“This event will provide a great opportunity for interaction between Maryville residents and campus organizations by bringing everyone together for a good cause,” Derek Soldanels, events planning chair for Student Senate, said. “It also gives campus organizations the opportunity to complete service hours by coming out and working this event and giving students a taste of running a large-scale event.”
Participants are encouraged to pre-register before Monday, March 23, by visiting www.thetechnicolorrun.com. Participants registering the day of the event will be charged an extra $5; late registrants will not receive a T-shirt or wristband.
