Advertising 101 offers networking opportunities to AdInk students

AdInk, Northwest Missouri State University’s advertising club, recently traveled to Kansas City for the annual Advertising 101 event hosted by the American Advertising Association-Kansas City.

Students traveled Oct. 3 to University of Missouri-Kansas City’s Henry W. Bloch Executive Hall for Entrepreneurship and Innovation where they interacted with more than 10 companies and had opportunities to attend 50-minute information sessions. Student also networked with professionals and had their portfolios and résumés reviewed by potential employers.

Now in its 14th year, Advertising 101 featured keynote speaker Eric Melin, who is the 2013 Air Guitar World Champion. AdInk also offered its profile photo service to the more than 250 college students attending the event.

About 40 Northwest students attended this year’s event and represented marketing, advertising, interactive digital media and public relations, among other majors. 

AdInk is a Northwest student organization for individuals interested in careers related to advertising, marketing, design and public relations. AdInk is open to all academic majors and hosts a variety of events and services for on-campus and off-campus organizations.
