Career Services invites students to submit internship photos

By Summer Lowe, media relations assistant

Northwest Missouri State University students have the opportunity to show off their internships, practicums, field experiences and directed teaching experiences in a photo contest sponsored by Career Services.

The contest is offered three times per year with one contest for each - session, fall, spring and summer - to give students more opportunities to share their experiences. The winner receives a $100 Visa Gift Card.

Each entry should include a photo that includes the student, a photo caption and no more than a 300-word description using the students best writing skills to briefly describe his or her experience. Students must be enrolled as a Northwest student when submitting an entry.

“The written description is an important part of the contest,” said Rosalie Weathermon, career development coordinator in Career Services. “It has to be clear that we see the passion that students have for their experiential education learning. “

Submissions may be from any experience during the summer session. Students may upload one photo by logging on to the Career Services website from their computers or a smartphone with the latest versions of IOS and Android.

Photos should be submitted before Monday, Aug 18. Career Services will appoint a panel of judges to select the winning photo.

Photos will be displayed on the Career Services website and should depict the student in his or her internship environment. Past submissions have included students working with wildlife, teaching overseas or doing field research.
