Before coming to Northwest, Machovsky was manager of annual giving at Missouri University of Science and Technology in Rolla. He also was assistant director of annual giving at the University of South Dakota Foundation in Vermillion, S.D.

Machovsky earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Dakota and is working toward the completion of his master’s degree in higher education leadership at Northwest.

“I am honored to continue serving Northwest in my new role as director of alumni relations and annual giving,” Machovsky said. “Our team will advance and develop programs that will give alumni, students, friends and parents an opportunity to connect, promote and mentor all Bearcats for years to come. I look forward to strengthening the connections of the loyal and passionate supporters in addition to future members of the Bearcat family.”

Deets returns to Northwest from Vatterott College in St. Joseph, where he had served since 2010 in the roles of lead education coordinator, director of admissions and most recently as campus director. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Northwest in 2004.

In his role, Deets is responsible for helping to develop and plan alumni events and programs related to Homecoming, reunions and the annual Northwest Alumni Awards. In addition, he will assist with coordination of outreach and engagement activities planned by the Northwest Alumni Association’s 19 chapters.

“I am very excited and extremely grateful for the opportunities and challenges of this position,” Deets said. “Being the alumni and donor relations specialist will enable me to reach out and build strong, lasting relationships with both our current and future alumni. I see this position as an opportunity to steward donors properly and to make sure we appropriately thank those who have given back to the University. I also hope my involvement with all our alumni chapters will assist those seeking opportunities to volunteer.”
