For the second consecutive year, students in Northwest Missouri State’s Ad Ink advertising club took advantage of an invitation to present their ideas to university peers and professionals during the American Advertising Federation of Kansas City’s (AAF-KC) Career Day Nov. 11 at Kansas University’s Edwards Campus in Overland Park, Kan.
The students’ presentation included tips for college students and professionals on branding themselves through resumes, portfolios, web sites and business cards.
AAF-KC Career Day is an annual professional advertising event where students can meet and receive advice from industry professionals working at some of the largest agencies in the nation. Seminar topics included the future of advertising, portfolio reviews and sports marketing, among others.
The career day is designed for college advertising, marketing, design and public relations students. Northwest’s AdInk is the only student group to ever present at the event.
Student presenters from Northwest included Jakob Kircher, Lauren Trump, Carlton Wilcoxson, Tim Gillissen, Julia Laimans, Camila Quesada and Brittany Ehlers. To view their presentation, titled “Brand Yo’self,” click here.
Ad Ink is a Northwest student organization for individuals interested in pursuing advertising careers. The club is open to all majors and organizes a variety of events and services for both on campus and off-campus organizations.
