Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band concert to feature student, faculty, alumni composers

The Northwest Missouri State University Wind Symphony and Symphonic Band will perform a concert showcasing the works of five composers with connections to the University.

The concert will feature compositions by Northwest Associate Professor of Music Dr. Kendall Prinz; alumni Ky Hascall and Gavin Lendt; and current students Robert Langenfeld, a senior music major from Bellevue, Neb., and Michael Putthoff, a senior applied advertising major from Lake Tapawingo.

Dr. William Richardson, associate professor of trumpet at Northwest, will be a featured soloist. Other selections during the concert will include works by James Barnes, David Holsinger and Dana Wilson.

The concert begins at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 18, at the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts. It is free and open to the public.
