The Northwest Dance Company at Northwest Missouri State University will present its annual spring show at 7:30 p.m., Friday, April 5, in the Ron Houston Center for the Performing Arts.
Tickets may be purchased with cash or a Bearcat Card for $5 at the Student Services Center on the first floor of the Administration Building or with cash at the door on the night of the show.
The show will showcase a variety of dance styles, including jazz, hip hop, modern, lyrical and clogging. Cam Madsen, a senior business management and marketing major from Kansas City, and Taylor Flora, a senior journalism and broadcasting major from Parkville, will emcee.
Now in its 12th year, the Northwest Dance Company is a student organization at the University with a mission of giving students opportunities to perform dance and be involved in the community. The group performs two shows each year.
Amanda Novotny, a senior elementary education major from Omaha, Neb., is the organization’s president and has been involved with the Northwest Dance Company since her freshman year.
“The show gives students who love to dance a chance to display their passion to the Northwest community,” she said.
