Student Senate launches logo design contest

MARYVILLE, Mo. - The 88th Student Senate at Northwest Missouri State University has launched a contest to find a new logo, and the winning design will receive a $50 prize.

Submissions must contain two different logos: a logo without words containing only a symbol in jpeg format, and a logo that includes the words Northwest Missouri State University, with no abbreviations, and Student Senate.

Student Senate is accepting entries until Feb. 21. Entries should be submitted by e-mail to

The contest lays the groundwork for a new look to Student Senate, Northwest Student Regent Joe Barbosa said.

"A new logo will bring a fresh look to Senate and symbolize the new ideas and vision it exhibits," Barbosa said.

The winner will be chosen by a committee and potentially a campus-wide vote. The winner will be notified by e-mail and asked to make final alterations to the design.

For more information about the contest contact Student Senate at or visit the Senate office in the Office of Campus Activities.
