For me, studying abroad meant experiencing a variety of cultures. I was immersed in the culture of my host country, England, and I loved eating fish and chips, saying “cheers,” and drinking tea with every meal. I met a variety of locals from students to professors to community members that accepted me with open arms to their community. After speaking a few words, I was immediately associated with being an American, but I never once felt unwelcomed. I learned an extensive amount about the history of Great Britain and education in England through my course work, and I had an incredible ‘uni’ experience at the University of Central Lancashire.
