South Complex Information

South Complex offers four or five rooms grouped by gender in pod-style living with a private bathroom. Each floor features a lounge with wireless internet access, study room and meeting room. The kitchenette and laundry room are located on the first floor.

Location: Centrally located to academic buildings, University offices, the Student Union, the Foster Fitness Center and the Student Rec Center.

I love living in South because of the blended diversities of the populations, with the freshmen LLCs as well as the upperclassmen. When we bring the building together for events, the communities mix together, and it's really cool to see. South also has the best location on campus as it is equal distance to most of the academic buildings.

South Complex offers the most variety in room types of any hall on campus. Along with the standard double occupancy and private room, South Complex also offers:

  • Deluxe single room: a room with only one bed.
  • Loft room: a 2-story room. Available for multi-occupancy or as a private room.

The More You Know

  • Shared by a pod (4-5 rooms) of the same gender. Each bathroom includes private toilet and shower stalls, a vanity area of sinks, mirrors and counter space.
  • Air conditioning available.
  • Free use of washers and dryers located on the hall's ground level.
  • Kitchenette located on 1st floor and includes a stovetop oven, microwave, and sink.
  • Halls are secured 24/7 with an electronic access system
  • Free Wi-Fi access in hall and room.
  • Students living in the same pod (4-5 rooms) have the same gender, but you may live next door or down the hall from a pod with a different gender.
  • Only fish allowed as pets.
  • Lounges and study rooms on each floor.
  • Recreation room includes pool table, ping pong and TV.
  • Provided furniture includes bunkable or single beds, movable desk, chair, wardrobe and dresser.
  • This hall has elevator access.
  • Access to networked laser printer located at hall front desk.

  • All freestanding furniture with bunkable beds

Note: These are measurements of typical rooms, rooms vary slightly. All furniture must remain in the room. There is no additional space for storage.

Whether you’re craving a late-night snack or a delicious meal on campus, we’ve got you covered. The J.W. Jones Student Union houses several stations to fit your nutritional needs. This is also the perfect place to catch up and grab a bite to eat with friends!

Beginning fall 2023, we’re welcoming Chick-fil-A, McAlister’s Deli, Qdoba and MrBeast Burger in the J.W. Jones Student Union, Starbucks in the B.D. Owens Library and Buffalo Wild Wings in The Station (in 2024). 

Whoever said college food isn’t good clearly hasn’t visited Northwest!
