Northwest offers a balanced professional program in Physical Education with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree for those interested in teaching. Coursework leads to certification in grades 9-12. This major requires certification in another field. In addition, students may take courses to become certified for kindergarten through 12th grade.

A student may apply for advance standing after completing 40 semesters hours of credit. The 40 hours must be completed with a Grade point average of 2.5.The student must also complete the following courses with grades of "C" or better and a Grade point average of 2.5
