Dr. David Holmes is a clinical audiologist residing in North Central Arizona since 1982. Prior to his employment at Prescott Ear, Nose and Throat, he was president and CEO of his professional corporation. He works with all age groups but especially enjoys his relationships with his geriatric patients. Prescott routinely rates as one of the top retirement cities, so it collects an eclectic group of former athletes, actors, musicians, politicians, etc. They are all willing to share their life and professional experiences.
He and his wife, Danette, have a daughter, Kassandra, and a Golden Retriever, Goldy. They enjoy taking full advantage of the natural resources that are available living in Arizona. Activities include year-round golf, hiking and RV camping, snow skiing and bicycling (have participated in several RAGBRAI’s).
Why are you "forever green"?
"I was an uninspired high school student. It was the exposure to different disciplines in my core studies at Northwest that inspired me scholastically. I remember geology with Dr. Maxwell, astronomy with Dr. Smeltzer, and speech courses with Dr. Bohlken. While pursuing what I thought would be my future profession in radio broadcast journalism, I took a class in “Intro to Communication Disorder.” The soon to be Dr. La Voi (he was working on his dissertation during my studies at Northwest) nurtured my interest in hearing and hearing technology. I’m sure he secretly wished I would have shown more interest in the speech side of the discipline. Following my degree from Northwest, I became a Shocker at Wichita State University earning a Master degree in Audiology. From there, I became a Gator from the University of Florida receiving my Clinical Doctorate. But it was my experiences at Northwest that gave me direction in my career and life’s path."
