Call for Submissions

The DeLuce Gallery at Northwest Missouri State University is now accepting exhibition proposals for the 2011 - 2012 exhibition season. Our programming runs from September to May each year. The successful applicants will be invited to have a solo exhibition in the fall of 2011 or the spring of 2012. Individual artists working in all types of media are invited to apply for consideration.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSIONS IS JANUARY 31, 2011.

To apply, please send a letter of intent, which includes the following:

  • A description of the proposed exhibition, particularly if the work will vary from the work submitted in the images of your application.
  • Details about your availability to visit Northwest Missouri State University as a presenting artist. We host our exhibiting artists for a visit to campus to present an artist's lecture on the evening of the opening of the exhibition. A daytime workshop with undergraduate art students is often a part of this visit. Please describe, if you were to conduct a workshop.

Additionally, please send the following supporting documentation:

  • A resume
  • An artist statement
  • 15 images of your work (slides or digital images are accepted)
  • A corresponding image list that includes titles, dates, media and size of each work.
  • Any other appropriate documentation that supports your application.
  • A SASE, if you wish your materials to be returned to you.

Guidelines for digital submissions:

  • On line or email applications will not be accepted.
  • Images should be in JPEG format, be windows compatible, with a resolution of 300 dpi, with a maximum size of 800 pixels in height or width of the image file.
  • Images should be numbered with your name and correspond to the image list.
  • Video submissions should be submitted as a playable DVD compatible with Windows.

Please see our website for a description of the gallery and a downloadable floor plan.
