The Department of Educational Leadership offers the Specialist in Education program which provides study beyond the master's degree for persons preparing for positions in educational administration and supervision. The three areas of specialization are:
Students pursuing a Specialist's degree must supply evidence of a completed master's degree from a regionally-or nationally-accredited institution of higher education with a minimum grade point average of 3.25 on their undergraduate transcript.
The Department of Educational Leadership requires that students attain a minimum combined score of 750 on the verbal and quantitative sections of the G.R.E. Students with two full-time years of teaching may choose to take the Department Admission Exam (DAE) in place of the GRE. In addition, students must attain a 4.0 or higher on the writing sample section of the GRE or successfully complete the department writing sample. Scores must be submitted prior to admission or by the end of the first term of enrollment.
