Getting Connected to Northwest Secure Wireless (Wi-Fi)
Non-Campus issued laptop - Windows 8
To connect to the Northwest secure wireless (Wi-Fi) network with a Windows 8 tablet or notebook computer, do the following:
- Swipe the screen with your finger to get the toolbar with the Settings icon (charm) (toolbar is typically located on the right side of the screen).
- You can also use a mouse to select the toolbar.
- Select the Settings icon (charm).
- Select the Wi-Fi icon.
- Select NWMSU_Secure.
- Select Connect.
- Enter your Northwest Network Account username and password.
- Your username is the beginning portion of your Northwest email address, which is everything to the left of @nwmissouri.edu. Student usernames are an S followed by 6 digits.
- If you can't join the network, your password is typically the problem.
- Either you typed it incorrectly or it is expired and needs to be changed prior to Wi-Fi setup.

- Select OK.
- A warning that Windows can't verify the server's identity will be displayed.
- Select Connect.
