Campus Notebook Computer Repair

Campus-provided notebook computer repairs must be completed at the Jon T. Rickman Electronic Campus Support Center (ECSC).  If you have questions about hardware or software problems on your campus-provided notebook computer, please call the Information Technology—Client Computing Help Desk at 660.562.1634 for guidance/assistance.

If you have questions about what occurs if your campus-issued notebook computer sustains minor or major damage, see the “Northwest Computing: What You Need to Know Now!” online brochure at the URL:  www.nwmissouri.edu/compserv/SOAR_2013.pdf

Whenever a notebook computer is brought in for repair, ECSC reserves the right to format/reload the hard disk without the user’s permission.  Therefore, it is the user’s duty to keep a backup of all personal files on an alternate storage device like a USB drive or a SkyDrive account.Having a campus notebook computer serviced by any service provider other than the ECSC is a violation of Northwest information technology policy and subject to fines and disciplinary action. Upgrading hardware components inside your campus-issued notebook computer or installing an alternate operating system on your campus-issued notebook computer is also a violation of campus information technology policy and subject to fines and disciplinary action.
