Academic Success Coach, Talent Development Center, 2014-2017
My favorite part about being a Bearcat are the experiences that come with being on the Northwest campus. There is always something happening to introduce us to new concepts, cultures, and ideas!
Choose something you’re passionate about and get involved! It can be related to your major, hobbies, or career goals.
Find a mentor on campus- someone you can comfortably talk to for advice or resources. There are so many people surrounding you who truly want to see you succeed!
Schedule “me” time. It’s ok to take breaks and do something you love between classes, studying, and work! It will give you the energy you need to persist.
Responsibility: People who are talented in the Responsibility theme take psychological ownership of what they say they will do. They are committed to stable values such as honesty and loyalty.
Relator: People who have the Relator StrengthsFinder theme enjoy close relationships with others. They find deep satisfaction in working hard with friends to achieve a goal.
Command: People exceptionally talented in the Command theme have presence. They can take control of a situation and make decisions.
Analytical: People with the Analytical theme search for reasons and causes. They have the ability to think about all of the factors that might affect a situation.
Discipline: People exceptionally talented in the Discipline theme enjoy routine and structure. Their world is best described by the order they create.
