Joel Kosch joined the Office of University Advancement in 2019 as a gift officer. Joel is a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Kearney and graduated from UMKC with his masters in higher education administration in 2020. He grew up on a farm in Nebraska and is the youngest of 10 children. While in college, Joel was active in the Education Association, his church, student government and  intramural sports, and he excelled in the Southwestern Advantage summer internship, where he gained skills in networking, communication and sales. Along with this experience, he recruited college students to participate in the internship and successfully built teams for five years with students from Northwest, Iowa State and the University of Nebraska.

Prior to joining Northwest, Joel was a fundraising consultant for K-12 schools in northwest Missouri, helping hundreds of teachers, coaches, principals, school leaders and volunteers organize and motivate thousands of students to raise money for their cause.

Joel and his wife, Jessica, have lived in Missouri since 2015, and they enjoy spending time with family and friends, traveling, hiking and watching sports. Joel also enjoys golfing, playing cards and ice cream!
