About

Mitzi Craft Marchant became Northwest’s Vice President of University Advancement and Executive Director of the Northwest Foundation in 2021. Prior to this, she was Northwest’s director of donor engagement as well as director of corporate and foundation relations. Since joining Northwest in 1999, Marchant also has filled the roles of vice president of university relations, chief public relations officer, director of advancement communications, director of information and marketing and communications assistant. She also was an adjunct faculty member in the School of Communication and Mass Media, teaching courses in public relations.

Prior to joining Northwest, Marchant was the community development and special projects coordinator for the Northwest Missouri Regional Council of Governments and has a background in journalism and advertising, having worked at a newspaper and advertising agency.

In addition, she has been active in the Maryville community, serving in board positions for the Maryville Chamber of Commerce, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Nodaway County, the Children and Family Center of Northwest Missouri (now North Star Advocacy Center) and the American Association of University Women. In Kansas City, she has served on the Big Brothers Big Sisters of Kansas City Donation Center Board and the ArtsTech Board of Directors and is an Ambassador for the Gladstone Chamber of Commerce.

Marchant, who lives in Kansas City with her husband, Mark, enjoys tennis, golf, racquetball, pickleball, hiking, snow skiing and traveling.
