COVID-19 Recovery: Northwest Recovery Phases

Northwest's Phased Recovery Schedule addresses how and when University operations will transition back to campus with an overarching goal of operating on-ground when the fall semester begins Aug. 19.

The University launched Phase 1: Restricted Operations on May 18, by allowing a limited number of employees – through a request and approval process – to return to campus.

Northwest transitioned to Phase 2: Limited Operations on Monday, June 8. This phase included allowing additional employees to return to campus, through a workspace evaluation process, but keeping facilities closed to the public initially.

Northwest continued its transition through Phase 2: Limited Operations by opening to the public Monday, June 22. Based on a prioritization process focused on operations and serving students, some offices are fully staffed and open, and others are not. Some offices have a combination of an on-site workforce and a remote workforce. Some offices remain fully in remote work mode. Northwest Leadership Team (NLT) members will communicate with employees in their areas about evaluative measures and expected date of returns.

Northwest entered Phase 3, a return to full operations with all COVID-19 mitigation measures in place, on Wednesday, July 15.
