Orientation & Registration Schedule

During the day, you will:

  • Receive a copy of your degree audit and a general overview to prepare you for your advising appointment
  • Take a photo for your Bearcat card (student ID)
  • Meet with an advisor
  • Register for classes
  • Take a tour of campus, if you choose
  • Visit with other offices, if you choose


Things to do before you arrive on campus

Complete your housing contract, if you are living on campus

If you plan to live on campus, be sure to complete your housing application, submit your prepayment and view your housing assignment in CatPAWS.

Submit health history form

Students must submit a completed health history form and immunization records to Wellness Services prior to classes beginning. Specific to the Meningitis Vaccine requirement, students are not allowed to live on campus unless record of this vaccine is submitted.

Verify your attendance

Students should verify their attendance each semester before the term begins. Verification is available from 2 weeks before classes start up until the first day of classes through CatPAWS.

Register your car ahead of time

If you plan to have a car on campus, you can register it through CatPAWS, under the Personal Information tab. You will pick up the permit in Cashiering when you arrive on campus.

Complete Laptop Agreement

Complete the Laptop Agreement in CatPAWS under the Personal Information tab.

Retrieve your email and Northwest Online log in from CatPAWS

Once you are enrolled, within a couple days, you will be assigned an S-number, which will be your email (combined with and computer log-in. You can access this and your password through CatPAWS under personal information. You are encouraged to change your password.

Complete your Title IX Training

All students must complete Title IX training, which is an online module to educate students on Northwest's non-discrimination and anti-harassment policy. Students receive an email with a link to complete this before classes start.

Get your Bearcat Card (student ID)

Location: Electronic Campus Support Center

Pick up your textbooks

Pick up your Parking Permit
