Bobby Bearcat

Bobby Bearcat became the Northwest mascot in 1916, and can be found with the cheerleaders at home football and basketball games and at other University events

167 student-athletes earned a 3.5 grade-point average or higher during the Spring 2018 semester

BASEBALL: The Bearcat baseball program has won eight MIAA titles including the 2018 MIAA regular season crown MEN'S BASKETBALL: Northwest captured the 2017 NCAA Division II national championship FOOTBALL: Northwest has won six national titles – the most by any NCAA Division II institution TRACK & FIELD and CROSS COUNTRY: The Bearcats track and field/cross country programs have produced eight individual national champions WOMEN'S BASKETBALL: The Bearcats advanced to the Final Four in the 2011 NCAA Division II Tournament GOLF: The Bearcat women’s golf team set its all-time scoring low in 2017-18 with a team average of 331.09 SOCCER: Northwest began sponsoring women’s soccer in 1999 SOFTBALL: Bearcat softball produced more than 20 wins in nine consecutive seasons TENNIS: The Northwest men’s and women’s tennis programs have produced more than 1,000 wins for head coach Mark Rosewell VOLLEYBALL: For the fifth consecutive year and 12th time overall, the Northwest volleyball team earned the American Volleyball Coaches Association Team Academic Award in 2018 CHEERLEADING: Placed in the UCA Division II College Nationals consecutive for 10 years.
