Bearcat Invitational Mock Trial Competition

Northwest is dedicated to preparing students for a successful career. The mock trial team competes in regional and national competitions sponsored by the American Mock Trial Association. Students prepare cases and play the roles of attorneys and witnesses during simulated trials in front of professional judges and attorneys. Mock trial gives undergraduate students an opportunity to learn firsthand about the judicial process and the work of trial attorneys, as well as honing communications skills.

Freshman-Transfer Showcase

All first-year students have an opportunity to participate in a mainstage production in their first semester on campus. Auditions are typically the first week of classes and the show opens approximately three and one-half weeks later.

Unlike other college programs, Northwest theatre students do not have to wait until their second or even third year to audition. They are encouraged to audition not only for the Freshman-Transfer Mainstage Production but for all productions. Students are also mentored by both faculty and students throughout their first experience. Recent freshman mainstage shows include The Diviners, Great Expectations and The Voice of the Prairie.
