A-Z Index

Missouri has implemented an annual program review system using data collected annually in the areas of academics, field and clinical experiences, certification examination achievement, and tracking candidates through their first year of teaching rather than through submission of formal program reports. However, in an effort to provide the NCATE site visit team with all pertinent information each program developed program narratives which outline program requirements and experiences, program-specific key assessments, and program-specific data. These program narratives may be accessed at the Northwest online secure site.  All professional education programs for initial or other school professional certification at Northwest have been approved by the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE).

In order to provide additional information on the advanced programs, each program coordinator was asked to develop an Advanced Program Diversity Narrative addressing each of the following concerns:

  1. Candidates have limited interactions with faculty members from diverse ethnic and racial groups.
  2. The unit does not ensure field experiences with students from diverse ethnic and racial groups.
  3. The unit does not ensure that all advanced candidates have curriculum and field experiences that provide a well-grounded framework for understanding ethnic/racial diversity, including English-language learners.

The Northwest Missouri State University NCATE Accreditation website also contains narratives and exhibits related to our institutional report. This website is open to all.

Reponses to each of the questions submitted by the site visit team during the offsite visit were answered in the Institutional Report Addendum.  (Click here for the complete IR Addendum).
