Pre-Mortuary Science Major

Pre-Mortuary Science
A Pre-Professional Program

Why Major in Pre-Mortuary Science?

The pre-mortuary science program prepares students with basic knowledge to consult families and friends of the deceased and arrange funeral details; offer counsel and comfort to bereaved family and friends; plan, coordinate and schedule funerals, burials and cremations; manage funeral home operations, provide information about funeral service options, products and merchandise; and remove remains from place of death, prepare body for cremation; or if embalming, students will learn to complete restorative work, apply cosmetics, dress and arrange the body in the casket.

Graduates of the program receive an associate degree and have the skills to be accepted and succeed in a professional mortuary school.
