Turnitin

Turnitin

The Learning & Teaching Center provides Northwest faculty and students with Turnitin's plagiarism prevention software. This product may be used to check whether submitted Microsoft Word files contain plagiarized materials. Every paper submitted is returned in the form of a customized Originality Report. Results are based on exhaustive searches of billions of pages from both current and archived instances of the Internet, millions of student papers previously submitted to Turnitin, and commercial databases of journal articles and periodicals. Northwest Cloud Repository is a multi-media repository for Northwest faculty, staff and students, developed by the Learning & Teaching Center student employees.

Office 365 is the suite of Microsoft applications available to all faculty, staff, and students. This includes Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Skype for Business, Publisher, and OneDrive.

Respondus 4.0

Respondus 4.0

Respondus is an exam management tool. It is used to upload and download exams. It can also be used to create paper exams. Check to see if your publisher has a testbank in Respondus format to make for easy transfer of questions to course site. Click the icon to the left for more information about retrieving quizzes from Northwest Online into Respondus.



Respondus LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser

Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the testing environment within Northwest Online. When LockDown Browser is used during an online exam, you are unable to go to other URLs, switch applications, take screenshots, copy questions or print. It essentially locks you into the exam until it's submitted.



Respondus Monitor

Respondus Monitor

Respondus Monitor is a webcam feature for LockDown Browser that records students during online, non-proctored quizzes. When this feature is enabled for a quiz, students are required to use a webcam and microphone with LockDown Browser. After the quiz is complete, an instructor can review details of the assessment, even the recorded videos.



Camtasia

Camtasia

Camtasia is a special software to capture images from the computer screen and to record screen capture recordings. This is like SnagIt, but with more video editing tools. Please call us to schedule an appointment, if you are interested in using Camtasia.



Remark Web Survey

Remark Web Survey

Remark Web Survey software can be used to survey students. This web-based survey allows students to access the survey via a link in a course site or even through email. Data reports are forwarded to the instructor once the survey time period is finished. Contact our office for survey requests.

Jing

Jing

Jing is a computer service that lets you capture basic video, animation, and still images, and share them on the web.
