Northwest Missouri State University

The Northwest Attendance Tracking Service (ATS) was developed over 5 years by Northwest student programmers and beta testing began spring 2014. The ATS has been running in a production state for the last 4 semesters. There are three methods for using ATS:

  1. The first method, probably the most autonomous, is using the kiosk in the classrooms. This method automatically pushes the data to the gradebook daily.
  2. The second method uses a mobile card swipe. The Learning and Teaching Center can check out a card swipe to you, as the instructor. Each class period, you will attach the card swipe to your laptop. as the students swipe into class, their information is captured in a txt file. This file is then imported into the ATS manager and manual push, pushes the information to your canvas gradebook.
  3. The third and final way has you as the instructor, manually enter attendance into the ATS manager and then push the information to the gradebook.

This is an image of the ATS settings menu. Note these settings only apply to the first method of ATS - the autonomous kiosk.
