Academic Excellence: Endowed Chairs and Professorships

Endowed chairs, professorships and fellowships bolster our environment of excellence and enrich learning. They are a prestigious honor for faculty who have earned reputations as leaders in their disciplines. The endowed and named positions provide supplemental salary and support professional development, enhanced research, teaching methods, discoveries, student learning, curriculum development and other creative pursuits.

By increasing the number of endowed academic roles, Northwest solidifies its reputation by recruiting and retaining exceptional faculty.

I am Forever Green

At Northwest, instruction is a core competency. Our faculty truly care about students, and unlike larger universities, our students receive all their instruction by faculty and have direct interaction with faculty. Conversations with alumni of all ages reveal that Northwest students are uplifted by their faculty relationships, which in many cases have transformed their lives. In this era of decreasing state funding, it is vital that alumni and partners support faculty enrichment, funding continuing education, professional and curriculum development and faculty research, which aids Northwest in recruiting and retaining an outstanding professional faculty.
