Student Groups and Programs:

Peer Education and Collaboration
The Director of Wellness is the coordinator of peer education for the campus.

Peer Education groups provide resources and programs for students in all health-related areas, including responsible social behavior, nutrition, fitness, stress relief and general measures to support wellness.

The GAMMA Peer Educators work specifically with the Greek community and collaborate with the Wellness Center in supporting campus health.

Collegiate Coeds for Change is a group of students selected to promote an environment of respect and safety on our campus and in our community. CCFC goals include raising awareness of violence, working to promote an environment that prevents violence and supports victims of disrespect and violence.

Student Health Advisory Committee serves as a student voice to bring issues to the attention of the Wellness Center and to relay information back to the broad campus community.

Sexual Assault Hotline

This hotline is provided by Northwest Missouri State University for emergency responses for the Northwest family. Upon calling, a dispatcher will determine the current status of the victim regarding their personal safety. Emergency police or medical attention will be provided if needed. Information will be obtained about the location of the victim if they are already at a safe location and a trained respondent will respond to the call. Calling the hotline does not obligate the victim to file a police report or pursue any legal action. Victims are encouraged to seek medical attention at St. Francis Hospital's Emergency Room. If you are a victim of a sexual assault, call 562-1972.

Sexual Assault Support Group
Students who are victims of sexual assault may contact Virginia Murr at the University Wellness Center for information about the Sexual Assault Support Group.
