Welcome to the Wellness Center!
The University Wellness Center is an integral part of the living-learning environment at Northwest Missouri State University. Our goal is to be the BEST outpatient clinic in existence and we promote the delivery of quality care for our students through:
- Delivery of care under the supervision of our Medical Director, Dr. Gerald Wilmes
- Intensive staff orientation with strict competency standards
- Weekly in service and teaching rounds for staff
- Surveys to assess student needs, expectations and evaluation of services
In addition to taking care of your health and education needs when you come to us as a patient, the Wellness Center is a primary source of health education for the campus community. The Director and Assistant Director present programs and have meetings with student groups in classrooms, club meetings, residence halls, the Union, orientation sessions, wherever there are students!
Wellness Philosophy
While remaining committed to quality outpatient care, we focus on wellness, not only as a prevention of disease, but also as a philosophy of life. This philosophy emphasizes self-responsibility and taking an active role in maintaining one's health. We believe true health must consider the individual as an integration of mind, body, and spirit.
