All students, faculty and staff are advised that Northwest Missouri State University will participate in a statewide severe weather/tornado drill scheduled for approximately 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 11.
Health and Safety Manager Scott Walk is urging all members of the University community to participate in the drill by moving to shelter as soon as the campuswide severe weather alarm is sounded.
The drill will last about 15 minutes, and all students, faculty and staff should proceed to the part their building designated by Health and Safety as a shelter. In most cases this will be an interior hallway on the lowest floor away from windows.
If actual severe weather conditions exist on the day of the drill, the exercise will take place at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 13.
Anyone with questions about what to do during the exercise should call Walk at 660.562.1475 (ext. 1475 on campus) or e-mail swalk@nwmissouri.edu.
The statewide severe weather/tornado drill is being conducted by the National Weather Service, the State Emergency Management Agency and local emergency management personnel.
