Third call issued for applied research proposals

Due to the return of Applied Research Funds there are sufficient resources to offer a third call for proposals this year.

Applied Research and Projects has $4,436 remaining in its budget. The Applied Research and Project Guidelines must be followed when submitting a proposal. Proposals must be received in the Graduate Office by 5 p.m., March 21.

The Faculty Research Committee will meet at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 9, in the Shared Conference Room to review proposals and award funding.

Proposals involving research with human subjects must be approved first by the Institutional Review Board, chaired by Dr. Jerry Barnett. Research involving animals must be approved by the Animal Welfare Committee, chaired by Dr. Karen Schaffer.

The approval form from the Institutional Review Board or the Animal Welfare Committee, as needed, must be attached to proposals for either Faculty Research or Applied Research and Projects. The forms are available from either Barnett or at http://www.nwmissouri.edu/m/fsenate/irb.htm for the Institutional Review Board or from Schaffer for Animal Welfare Committee.

Applications must be submitted electronically in care of Nina Nickerson in the Graduate Office (gradsch@nwmissouri.edu). Hard copies are not required. Applied Research proposals must have the signed Applied Research and Projects Routing Form submitted by the deadline.
