Comedy, magic and music highlight SAC line-up

Northwest's Student Activities Council will sponsor the following free events during the 2007-'08 academic year:

The Chicago Comedy Company (C3), 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 13, J.W. Jones Student Union

C3's hilarious shows combine audience participation, improv comedy and zany theatricality -- a guaranteed laugh riot.

Recycled Percussion, 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, Performing Arts Center

This combination of power percussion and hip-hop has been described as one of the most dynamic live music shows of the decade. Check them out at www.recycledpercussion.com.

Loni Love with Dan Ahdoot, 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, Performing Arts Center

Comedienne Loni Love is Viola, the hilariously outspoken member of Mary and Jen’s weight-loss group on NBC’s mid-season comedy "Thick and Thin." Her other television credits include "The Late Late Show with Craig Kilborn," Comedy Central’s "Premium Blend" and "The Best Damn Sports Show Period." Ahdoot has performed at more than 200 colleges around the country in addition to making appearances on "Premium Blend," "20/20 with Barbara Walters" and Sirius Satellite Radio's "Brueur Unleashed."

Mike Henry, 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 15, Charles Johnson Theater

Comedic writer Mike Henry is the supervising producer and a regular voice actor on Fox's animated hit "The Family Guy." His presentations take audiences behind the scenes with never-before-seen clips and outtakes as he talks about both the show and his own journey toward success as a comedy writer.

Mike Super, 9 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 18, Charles Johnson Theater

Illusionist Mike Super started performing magic at age 6. Since then, he has entertained tens of thousands of people and shared the stage with such stars as Regis Philbin, Joan Rivers, Paul Reiser and Robin Leach. "CA Magazine," a show business trade publication, named Super America's Entertainer of the Year for 2003.

Jerry Greenfield, 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, Charles Johnson Theater

Jerry Greenfield and his long-time friend and business partner Ben Cohen are the men behind one of the most talked-about, and least conventional, success stories in American business. Co-founder of Ben & Jerry’s Homemade Inc., Greenfield has helped to build a storefront venture into a $300 million ice cream empire that remains deeply connected to the values of social responsibility and people-first management.
