A Florida couple who spent their childhood in northwest Missouri were honored Homecoming week during a naming ceremony for the Warren S. and Rita Peck Shuck Museum of Life Sciences.
Located on the third floor of the Garrett-Strong Science Building, the museum was established by Northwest’s Department of Biological Sciences.
It features the most complete mastodon skull found and known to be on display in Missouri as well as collections of mollusks, fossils, mounted birds and other artifacts. MORE

'ATM' night to kick off Up 'Til Dawn letter-writing effort MORE.

The Bearcat Marching Band will present a special salute to veterans during halftime ceremonies at the Saturday, Nov. 10, home football game against the Missouri Southern State University Lions.
During the salute, the band will play the theme song of each of the United States' armed services while presenting that service's colors on the field. The salute will close with the band's rendition of "America the Beautiful."
Game time for the Missouri Southern game is 1 p.m. at Bearcat Stadium. Sunday, Nov. 11, is Veterans Day.
