Dr. Himadri Chakraborty, assistant professor of chemistry and physics, and physics major Matt McCune, Maryville, recently presented original research at the American Physical Society Conference of the Division of Atomic Molecular and Optical Physics in Charlottesville, Va.
Charaborty’s papers were titled:
- “Xenon encapsulated in C60: A ‘melting pot’ of multiple photo-effects”
- “Scattering of hydrogen anions by plane and nano-stepped metal surfaces: Role of the ion speed for probing the surface band structure”
Papers presented by McCune with Chakraborty as co-auther were:
- “Fourier analysis of sub-shell photoionizations: Pristine C60 and atoms endohedrally confined in C60”
- “Sub-shell resolved photoionization in the reciprocal space: Metal and noble gas atoms in a fullerene cage”
