Dr. Anthony Olson
An article by Dr. Anthony Olson, associate professor of music, appears in the current issue of “Piano Journal.” The research paper, titled "The Reverse Transcription: Pauline Viardot’s Vocal Arrangements of Chopin Mazurkas," explores vocal arrangements of Chopin mazurkas made by noted nineteenth-century vocalist Pauline Viardot and uses the transcriptions to discuss improvisation in the solo piano music of Frédéric Chopin. The peer-reviewed “Piano Journal” is the official publication of the European Piano Teachers Association.
