Drs. Carol Spradling and Jody Strauch

Dr. Carol Spradling, assistant professor of computer science and information systems, and Dr. Jody Strauch, assistant professor of mass communication, recently presented a paper titled “An Interdisciplinary Major Emphasizing Multimedia” at the 2008 SIGCSE Technical Symposium on Computer Science Education in Portland, Ore.

The paper examines the development of the interactive digital media major. Craig Warner, associate professor art, contributed to the research.

Spradling also presented “Ethics Training and Decision-Making: Do Computer Science Programs Need Help?” which summarized findings from her dissertation, “A Study of Social and Professional Ethics in Undergraduate Computer Science Programs: Faculty Perspectives.”

Both papers will be published in the SIGCSE conference proceedings and are available online at the ACM Portal to Computing Literature.
