Dr. Leslie Galbreath
Dr. Leslie Galbreath, director of Northwest’s Talent Development Center, recently presented a paper at the American Educational Research Association’s national conference in New York City. The paper, co-authored by Dr. Barbara Townsend of the University of Missouri-Columbia, was titled “The Effects on Postsecondary Enrollment Patterns of a State ‘Scholarship’ Program.”
Research by Galbreath and Townsend examined the in-state public postsecondary enrollment patterns of a statewide cohort of Missouri A+ Schools Program participants. This program is primarily a high school improvement program but includes a financial incentive designed to encourage postsecondary enrollment.
AERA seeks to improve the educational process by encouraging scholarly inquiry related to education and evaluation. The broad range of disciplines represented by the membership includes education, psychology, statistics, sociology, history, economics, philosophy, anthropology and political science.- About Northwest
