Dr. Mark Jelavich, professor of economics, accounting and finance, is the author of "Inward Foreign Direct Investment: Employment and Location Issues," which was recently published by the "Journal of Economics" (Vol. 33, No. 1, 2007). The study examines the extent to which foreign-owned firms operating in the United States prefer urban, exurban or rural locations for their facilities.
