Bearcats head to Breckenridge for third annual ski trip

Northwest alumni and friends enjoyed several days of fresh powder during the
Tourin' Bearcats' 2008 ski trip to Winter Park, Colo. This winter, the group will
return to the slopes at the Rocky Mountain resort community of Breckenridge.

The Tourin’ Bearcats travel program for Northwest Missouri State University alumni and friends will soon return to the slopes of Colorado for the third annual Bearcat ski trip.

The trip will take place Jan. 7-11, 2009, and includes three days of skiing at Breckenridge (www.breckenridge.snow.com) and three nights' lodging at Pine Ridge Condominiums (www.pineridge.com), just steps from a Breckenridge ski lift.

Those wishing to participate in the Northwest Alumni Association-sponsored ski trip are encouraged to make reservations as soon as possible. A $200 deposit must be submitted by Sept. 17.

The trip cost starts at $545 per person for skiers, based on six people per condo, and includes round-trip transportation, a three-day lift ticket, three nights' lodging and an evening Bearcat social. Additional trip details, including package options for non-skiers and the final payment date, will be available soon.

A motorcoach will pick travelers up at central locations in Maryville, St. Joseph and Kansas City on the morning of Wednesday, Jan. 7, before heading to the Rocky Mountains. The bus will leave Colorado late afternoon on Saturday, Jan. 10, returning by mid-morning on Sunday, Jan. 11.

Steve Sutton, director of alumni relations, said nearly 60 Northwest alumni and friends have enjoyed the ski trip over the last two years, and he expects another fun trip in 2009. He emphasized that the trip is open to the public, not just graduates of the University.
