The 1905 Society, a giving club formed by the Northwest Foundation to carry Northwest Missouri State University into its next 100 years, recently marked its one-year anniversary. Foundation officials are encouraged with the response for this initiative that included 63 charter members.
“Whether the needs lie in the form of scholarship support, additional financing for capital projects or the extra funds needed to upgrade campus technology, The 1905 Society is helping ensure the financial well-being of the University for years to come,” said Orrie Covert, executive director of the Northwest Foundation. “The support shown by these -- and future -- 1905 Society members honors the University’s proud past and inspires others to share their faith in Northwest’s promising future.”
Any unrestricted annual gift of $1,000 or greater allows an individual to join The 1905 Society. Annual membership, which is concurrent with the Northwest Foundation’s fiscal year (July 1-June 30), includes recognition in “The Bridge Honor Roll of Donors” as well as exclusive invitations to campus events.
Memberships are now being accepted. Upcoming 1905 Society events include a Saturday, Sept. 13, brunch at the Thomas Gaunt House with Northwest President Dean L. Hubbard and first lady Aleta Hubbard; a Monday, Oct. 27, social at the Alumni House with pianist Mac Frampton prior to his Encore series performance; and a Thursday, Jan. 29, social with peace activist Arun Gandhi, grandson of Mahatma Gandhi, following his Distinguished Lecture Series address.
